Everything rendered here was rendered in TrueSpace 3, as it's a great program for the price. . . and I can't afford Maya. I think my rendering has improved with time, the most recent rendering being an example of this. I definitely think experience has allowed me to use Truespace to pound out (finally!) a decent rendering. |
Feb 2001--This is a "Matrix-style" white construct test for a forum at dvGarage.com
From left to right: Nov. 2000--My first rendering of Unicron in planet form. Nov. 2001--My second rendering of Unicron in planet form. I used two layered bump maps for all of the surface except the orange spikes, which, of course, look out of place. The light coming out of the maw was a textured plane. The whole render was touched up in Photoshop. Nov. 2001--My third rendering of Unicron, Work in Progress. Dec. 2001--My fourth rendering of Unicron, Work in Progress. I took the third rendering and reworked it using a material overlay to break up the specularity, and the texture repetitions. Dec. 2001--My seventh rendering of Unicron. I added some lights that only become very apparent on the dark side of Unicron. Jan. 2001-My eighth rendering of Unicron. I added a shell and here you can also see some placeholder horns and "teeth" around the maw. It's starting to come together! Jan. 2001-My ninth rendering of Unicron. I added a light from the maw to tie the planet and Unicron together and put the real horns and teeth on Uni. It's looking a little better.
Nov. 2001--A few minutes downloading textures, a minute in truespace and BAM! instant planet. Mars with earth clouds. Oct.30, 2000--I just spent three hours last night modeling and rendering this guy. I saw the Descent3 CD (which, by the way I can't run, because my computer's too slow) and this spider robot looks a lot like the robot on the label. I'll add more legs later and knock the reflection of the metal way off, so it looks like brushed aluminum. Maybe a texture map later as well. Then I'm going to try and render it to look like a cartoon cell. Okay, I posted a second picture. What do you think? |
![]() circa. 1996--This is I think the first conceptual rendering I ever did. I made it, printed it out, and sent it to a friend in a letter. A mail bomb--get it!? Yeah. Anyways. . . |
![]() circa. 1996--This was for our church's Relay for Life team. The team name was 'The Nightcrawlers' and so I thought this looked pretty good. It was, however, never used for a tshirt. The worm sure is cute though, huh? Looks like the little worm on Sesame Street. |
